When we first met Addie, she was a 3 month old, dirty puff ball with a red splotch in her left eye. We bought her from some people who were selling her out of the back of a shoe store in a mall. She smelled so bad but was so spunky. She followed us around, nipping at our heels. We knew we had to take her home with us.
What followed was 11 years of laughter and love. She was funny and silly and weird and stubborn and moody. We didn’t train her, she trained us!
She loved sitting by the pool, sitting on picnic tables, sitting underneath the shower curtain in the bathroom and sitting in her Mommy’s lap.
She survived a rattlesnake bite one year and having her eye removed the next. She was the toughest little thing I have ever seen.
Addie, your Mama and Bubba and I are going to miss you forever. Sleep sweet, little Addie Bear.
A candle was lit in memory of Addie Mae.
